****************************************************** PR # 32129 We propose a single ASCA observation of the supernova remnant MSH15-56. MSH15-56 is the archtypical example of a ``composite'' SNR in the radio and has a complex center-filled morphology in X-rays. Previous observations with ROSAT have been unable to determine if there is a non-thermal component in the emission from the center of the remnant. Our proposed observation will easily detect the existence of any non-thermal emission and will also produce the firs thigh-resolution X-ray spectrum of the southwest shell of the remnant .We will compare the ASCA data to existing radio observations to determine the evolutionary history of this unique remnant. ******************************************************
