****************************************************** PR # 32190 Recent data from the Ginga and ROSAT satellites has revealed strong emission and absorption features in the X-ray spectra of AGN. These features have been interpreted as evidence for large amounts of circumnuclear material reprocessing the nuclear continuum radiation. We propose to observe 3 Seyfert-type AGN which have very different spectra, indicating that different conditions exist in each. ASCA observations will allow us to compare and contrast observed line energies and strengths along with energies and depths of absorption features, to improve our understanding of how any why different processes dominate different AGN. ******************************************************
