     We propose ASCA observations of a unique class of ultraluminous IRAS        
     sources at high redshift (z=1.5 - 2.5). These objects are extremely         
     unusual in that they are strong, non-thermal radio sources and have         
     optical spectra similar to QSOs. They may represent an evolutionary         
     link between objects like F10214+4724 and quasars. Our proposed             
     observations can confirm the quasar hypothesis for these galaxies and
