     We propose to conduct coordinated ASCA observations of the bright,          
     variable, gamma-ray quasar PKS 0208-512, scheduled for observation          
     with the EGRET and COMPTEL instruments aboard the CGRO on two               
     separate occasions during the period covered by the current ASCA AO.        
     These observations will provide important information on the x-ray          
     spectral properties of gamma-ray AGN and will form part of an               
     international multiwavelength campaign to monitor the broad-band            
     emission from such sources. Our proposed observations of PKS 0208-512       
     will provide the only contemporaneous x-ray measurements of this            
     object, and will be an important contribution to the multiwavelength        
     datasets needed to test and constrain the high-energy emission models       
    proposed for gamma-ray quasars
