****************************************************** PR # 32251 We propose an ASCA spectrum for the Triangulum Australis cluster of galaxies. The primary goal of this observation is to determine the fundamental properties of this largely unstudied bright X-ray cluster, including density, temperature, abundance and mass profiles. The lack of a cooling flow and of excess soft X-ray absorption will be verified. Knowledge of these properties in nearby high luminosity (1e45 ergs/s) X-ray clusters is essential for our understanding of the apparent deficit of high luminosity clusters at moderate redshifts, as well as cluster evolution in general, since future high redshift studies will necessarily involve high luminosity clusters. In addition, the amount and distribution of dark matter in massive clusters can place constraints ******************************************************
