****************************************************** PR # 32254 Abell 1736 is in the midst of the Shapley Supercluster, the largest concentration of galaxy clusters in the nearby Universe (z $<$ 0.1). A1736 shows spatial and spectral evidence of ongoing subcluster merging: the X-ray peak of A1736 is displaced from the optical concentrations of galaxies and multiple temperature components are found in its Ginga spectrum. An ASCA SIS/GIS observation of A1736 would yield insight into the details of cluster-cluster interactions in this unique supercluster. ******************************************************
