   SN1987A was a unique event recorded just after the launch of GINGA.
   Now, 6 yearslater and just after the launch of ASTRO-D, this
   observation will obtain themost sensitive upper limit to X-ray
   emission from the remnant and the possiblecentral pulsar. A pulse
   search, the best possible continuum upper limit, and amap of the
   diffuse emission in the region will all result from this pointing.
