****************************************************** PR # 41006 We request an 80 ks exposure of the dMe flare star AD Leo for the purpose of observing a stellar flare at coronal X-ray wavelengths with ASCA. The observation will be coordinated with photometry and spectroscopy from the EUVE spacecraft, for which we have already been awarded observing time by NASA. Simultaneous coverage will also be arranged for microwave observations with the VLA, and optical/IR photometry and spectroscopy from several ground-based sites. AD Leo is known to flare very often, and its flares are typically much more energetic than the most powerful flares observed on the Sun. Joint soft X-ray, XUV, and radio observations of the coronal emissions of this star will be used to test and refine a new physical model of stellar flares, which we have recently developed. ******************************************************
