****************************************************** PR # 41052 We propose to observe the galactic superluminal source GRO J1655-40 (Nova Scorpius 1994) simultaneously with radio, optical, X-ray (ROSAT/ASCA/XTE) and gamma-ray (BASTE/OSSE). Among three known galactic jet objects, GRO J1655-40 is the unique source identified as a blackhole candidate through mass determination by optical observation. It is the best target to study the X-ray emission mechanism of blackhole, the origin of jet, and its relation to AGN. The campaign will be done during the next outburst predicted to occur on 1996 Mar 18. We request to cover the full orbital phase to observe the eclipse. Our ASCA observation should provide the key information to understand the object. ******************************************************
