****************************************************** PR # 41150 We propose to observe two infrared luminous LINERs: UGC 8387 and NGC 7130. This is one of a series of observations to test the proposed evolutional sequence from (1) starburst dominating IRL galaxies, via (2) IRL galaxies powered by embedded AGN, to (3) bare AGN or quasars. The current proposal places emphasis on the second stage of this evolutional sequence. We assume that the galaxies proposed here are "missing-links" between Starburst-dominant Infrared Galaxies and QSOs. The proposed observations are crucial test for the hypothesis that galactic superwinds powered by starburst (or AGN) blow up circum-nuclear material and make bare AGN. Since the IRL galaxies suffer large amount of extinction, good sensitivity of ASCA at hard X-ray regions is essential to make the proposed observation. ******************************************************
