****************************************************** PR # 41157 4C38.41 is one of the brightest GAMMA-RAY blazar detected by EGRET on board CGRO. Based on the fast time variablity ( a few days), the emission region of gamma-ray is believed to be at the very center of the blazar. In spite of gamma-ray information, we do not have any meaningful knowledge of the object in the X-ray band. ASCA observation is crucial to understand the emission mechanism upto GeV band. As part of an international multiband campaign, we propose to observe 4C38.41. Since EGRET will run out of the gas of the sparc chamber in 1996, this coordinated observation is the last chance to have the spectrum upto GeV. ******************************************************
