****************************************************** PR # 41162 ASCA results obtained for the Seyfert 2 NGC5252 (Cappi et al. 1996b) have shown that a flat (2-10 keV) spectrum associated with a weak iron line cannot be explained by enhanced reflection because of the weak iron line. Therefore, they do not fit easily into simplest versions of unified models. We propose to observe the bright Seyfert 2 NGC 7674 and 1040+706 to investigate this problem. Ginga observations indicate that both sources have flat spectra (Gamma(2-10 keV)=1.4) and low upper limits on their Fe K line. The scientific goals of the proposal are: i) to provide tight constraints on the absorption, photon index and Fe K line parameters; ii) to test unified models based on reflection from neutral matter, and iii) to look for and model the soft (E < 2 keV) X-ray emission of these Sey2. ******************************************************
