****************************************************** PR # 41187 We propose ASCA observations of two powerful radio galaxies, 3C353 and 4C+55.16, in which bright X-ray emission (>1E-11 erg/s/cm2) were detected with the HEAO-1 experiments. One has a large-scale radio structure classified as FRII, and the other is a core-dominated compact radio source. Despite of the large luminosities in radio and X-ray, optical properties of both objects do not indicate strong activities. Detailed X-ray spectroscopy provides information about central source to extend the unified model to radio-loud objects, and to test the relationship between X-ray nature and radio power/morphology. ******************************************************
