****************************************************** PR # 41224 ASCA has detected unusually low metal abundance in the hot gas in poor groups of galaxies, such as NGC2300 and HCG62. The proposed target, HCG97, is a bright group of galaxies for which very low abundance is suggested from ROSAT PSPC measurements. This observation aims to find the cause of the low metal abundance based on the precise information on the gass mass and gravitational mass of the system. The hot gas features around elliptical and spiral galaxies would also tell us how the intracluster space is enriched with the gas ejected from galaxies. ******************************************************
