****************************************************** PR # 42130 We propose a simultaneous Asca / XTE / OSSE observation of a Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC 4945. This object, already detected by OSSE, is probably the brightest Seyfert 2 in hard X-rays. Since its primary component is bright yet heavily absorbed, NGC 4945 is the best candidate to detect the scattered fraction of the primary X-ray continuum by the same medium (most likely the hot electrons) that are likely to be responsible for the scattered broad-line flux (visible only in in polarized light), and will alow a measurement of the conditions of this medium, and in verification of the Seyfert Unified Schemes. Since the primary continuum is probably variable, even though this object was already observed by Asca, a reobservation is required to measure the primary - to - scattered X-ray ratio. ******************************************************
