****************************************************** PR # 42147 X-ray absorption appears to be relatively common in low luminosity AGN, yet uncommon in quasars. Indeed there are no clear cases of cold circumnuclear absorption in quasars, only three documented cases of warm absorbers: MR2251-178, 3C351 and PG1114+445. MR2251-178 has already been observed by ASCA, and here we propose observations of 3C351 and PG1114+445. The proposed observations will allow examination of ionization state and column density of the warm absorber gas, and hence provide a vital insight into the relationship between AGN radio properties, luminosity and the state of the circumnuclear material. ******************************************************
