****************************************************** PR # 43027 `Narrow-line' Seyfert 1 galaxies possess steep soft X-ray slopes compared to the mean for Seyfert 1 type galaxies as well as rapid and large amplitude X-ray variability. We propose the bright narrow-line and extreme Fe II Seyfert 1 galaxy PKS 0558-504. We will measure the shape and luminosity of the strong soft excess as well as the break energy where the hard tail takes over from the soft component. We will quantify the amounts of hard and soft flux to determine whether the soft excess might plausibly be produced by hard X-ray reprocessing. PKS 0558-504 is known to be variable and we will search for spectral variability. We will sensitively probe iron K line emission in PKS 0558-504 to examine the iron line dichotomy between Seyferts and quasars. ******************************************************
