   The largest star formation region in the Local Group, 30 Doradus was
   shown byEinstein to have multiple point sources and hard diffuse
   emission. Calibrationutility is as a complex region with diffuse and
   point-like emission withsubstantial spectral variation. Scientific
   goals are to map the temperaturedistribution in the region, measure
   point-source spectra, describe spectrallythe bright Crab-like SNR
   N157A and search for pulsations from it.
