   A water vapor maser with a luminosity exceeding 6000 solar lum. has
   been discovered in the radio galaxy TXFS2226-184. The maser luminosity
   qualifies TXFS2226-184 as the first and only known water giga-maser
   AGN. ASCA could provide the first ever X-ray observation of this
   unusual AGN. This extreme source will provide an invaluable data point
   in the search for correlations between X-ray luminosity/spectral
   parameters and maser properties and hence in understanding the maser
   phenomenon.
