   We propose to observe three fields from our deep ROSAT surveys of
   optical UVX fields, where 80 percent of the soft sources are
   identified. Both faint x-ray QSOs and narrow emission line galaxies
   (NELGs) have so far been detected with ASCA, with 26 sources in three
   fields, down to a limiting flux of 4 X 10**(-14) cgs. We have resolved
   about 40 percent of the 2 - 6 keV XRB and we aim here to improve our
   statistics in order to bring our knowledge of this higher-energy XRB to
   a level comparable with that achieved with ROSAT at 1 keV. This
   proposal will complete the ASCA observations of all of our ROSAT
   surveys and will form a unique database of deep fields observed in both
   soft and hard x-rays, with a very high optical spectroscopic
   identification rate.
