   53002
   We propose a 60 ksec ASCA observation of the ultrafast rotator Speedy
   Mic (=HD 197890). The goal of the proposed observations is to obtain --
   for the first time -- a high-quality X-ray spectrum of this active
   star, to search for rotational modulation in the X-ray lightcurve, and
   -- with luck -- to catch a major flare on this hyperactive star. The
   proposed observations are very well suited to both the ASCA orbit and
   the ASCA mode of observations.
