   We propose to observe, for 40ks each, two X-ray bright W UMa A-type
   binary systems. Our goal is to obtain high-quality spectra for
   modelling of the stellar coronae, and in particular for element
   abundance determinations. The proposed observations will extend the
   contact-binary sample (of 5 W-type systems and 2 A-type systems)
   obtained by the present investigators in ASCA AOs 1-4, providing
   essential coverage at earlier spectral types and longer binary/rotation
   periods. The proposed targets appear to be the only remaining W UMa A-
   type systems accessible to ASCA.
