************************************************************************* 53031 We propose ASCA observations of 4 soft X-ray luminous (Lx > 10^42.5 ergs/s), bona-fide, Seyfert 2 galaxies detected in the ROSAT all-sky survey. The high soft X-ray luminosities of these objects suggest that either we are observing through abnormally low columns, atypical of Seyfert 2 galaxies, or alternatively these are the most X-ray luminous Seyfert 2 objects known. In any case, these hard X-ray observations are expected to provide important constraints on AGN unification and X-ray emission models. It is possible that we are dealing with a new class of type II AGN, which could be very important for recent models of the cosmic X-ray background. *************************************************************************
