************************************************************************* 61009 We propose an 80 ksec observation of PSR J0631+10, which has recently been discovered in the radio band during a follow-up study of unidentified sources detected by the Einstein IPC. Marginal detection of pulsations in the EGRET band have also been reported for PSR J0631+10. Combining the ROSAT archival data with this ASCA pointing, we intend to: 1) detect pulsations at the radio period; 2) search for an extended pulsar fed synchrotron nebula; 3) characterize the blackbody emission from the neutron star surface; and 4) determine a precise value of the interstellar absorption. The requested observation will provide important keys to the pulsar emission mechanism, the thermal history, and will provide a precise position for PSR J0630+10. *************************************************************************
