************************************************************************* 61092 Many lines of evidence suggest that there are two subgroups in LINERs: one is dominated by starburst and the other harbors low-luminosity AGN. Recent IR spectroscopic survey showed that infrared line ratios are good indicators of the activity. Among the lines, we concentrate on H2 lines, since our previous ASCA observation of NGC 6240, which is an infrared luminous LINCER and have the largest H2/Br-gamma line ratio ever observed for galaxies, showed that buried AGN is the dominant energy source in the galaxy. No other infrared luminous galaxies have AGN as the dominant energy source. In order to check if NGC 6240 is the only exceptin, we propose to observe LINERs with strong H2 lines emission. *************************************************************************
