************************************************************************* 61182 Since the volume number density of member galaxies is quite high in galaxy groups, every galaxies would be merged into a giant elliptical galaxy in a few Gyr. This was theoretically pointed out by Barns. In order to chech this evolution scenario, we propose to observe an X-ray selected galaxy group RXJ0454.8-1806, which is one of the X-ray brightest group of galaxies discovered in the ROSAT All Sly Survey and optical follow up observations. This system is dominated by a giant elliptical galaxy and may be an evolved system. Since it is as bright as HCG62 which is the brightest galaxy group observed with ASCA so far, ASCA data will surely allow us to measure the gas mass, total gravitating mass, amount of heavy elements and their spatial distributions with very good accuracy. *************************************************************************
