****************************************************** PR # 62 The two early type galaxies NGC4406/4374 are separated by 18'. The for-mer is a bright source with extended X-Ray morphology and high radial velocity. The other is a weak radio galaxy with jets. Two asuka pointings will allow usto study two morphologically similar galaxies under vastly different conditions.Evidence for ram-pressure stripping of the N4406 ISM was provided by multi-wavelength imaging studies. However, available kinematic data does not favorthis hypothesis. Given enough observed power in lines, Asuka may be able toprovide kinematic discrimination of the ram-pressure stripping model. Also, itprovides the unique capability to explore the fate of the stripped ISM: Is it lost to the hot ICM through evaporation, or will it cool and eventually condense into a tail? ******************************************************
