   SS Cyg is an extremely bright cataclysmic variable of the dwarfnova
   variety. It undergoes semi-regular outbursts in the
   optical.Observations at any epoch are of interest; hard X-ray
   flickering inquiescence, peak hard X-ray brightness on rise and fall
   of opticalbrightness, peak soft X-ray brightness during optical
   outburst.Goal is to measure plasma diagnostics ideally on rise
   tooutburst, to determine the nature of the X-ray emitting plasma.AAVSO
   should be contacted to determine outburst state, pluscoordinated
   optical observations will be extremely useful.
