************************************************************************* 71093 Many nearby bright galaxies have LINER type nuclei and ASCA observations revealed that most of LINERs with broad Halpha emission are low luminosity AGNs. However most LINERs (30% of nearby bright galaxies) have no detectable broad Halpha and our X-ray observatinos have shown they are very dim in X-rays and no clear evidence for the presence of AGN is found. We propose to observe two more LINERs NGC 6500 and NGC 5363 and obtain Halpha flux limited sample of LINERs without broad Halpha. These data will be used to measure true AGN fraction of LINERs and to estimate an AGN density in the local universe. *************************************************************************
