************************************************************************* 72023 Intermediate Polars (IPs; asynchronous magnetic cataclysmic variables) usually show only a hard X-ray component; however, several IPs have recently been discovered which show a soft, blackbody like component in addition to the hard component. Our targets, V405 Aur and PQ Gem, are the two brightest examples of these 'soft IPs', and have relatively high magnetic field and show complex and energy-dependent X-ray pulse shapes. Recent XTE data show that the hard X-ray pulse shape of PQ Gem has changed. We propose second ASCA observations of V405 Aur and PQ Gem to monitor P-dot, the hard X-ray luminosity, and to compare the spin light curves of the soft and hard components with those seen during their first ASCA observations. *************************************************************************
