************************************************************************* 73011 Recent ROSAT and ASCA observations of the SNR Kes 32 / PSR 1610-50 reveal pronounced complex, energy dependent extended structures. Unfortunately, in both observations the instruments were pointed on PSR 1610-50 so that most of the remnant and the large radio plume emanating from Kes 32 was outside the fields of view inhibiting (for the SIS) a proper spectral analysis. The ASCA observation was rather short and yielded only statistically limited photon fluxes. In view of the confusing X-ray results and the highly peculiar radio morphology, indicating the superposition of two unrelated objects, which remained uncovered in both, the ASCA and the HRI observation, we propose a deeper ASCA pointing centered on the remnant to elucidate the physical properties of this young, unusual system. *************************************************************************
