Abstract
One of five survey datasets I am reducing that have only two GRT's, to determine if they are useful or require re-observation, following the July 1999 Survey Working Group meeting at ISAS. The VS01u observation of 1934-638 did not yield any space fringes at the correlator or during fringe-fitting in AIPS. Only weak fringes are present on the single ground baseline. 1934-638 is a GPS galaxy and has two roughly equal strength components separated by approximately 50 mas. Ground-based VLBI with large antennas at 2.3 GHz show 1/2 Jansky on the longest baselines. At 5 GHz and with smaller antennas, the detection is marginal on the ground-baselines and extremely difficult on the space baselines. *** Recomendation is do not re-observe, too weak for space VLBI ***. Perhaps the GOT observations of this source could give more information, if larger antennas or a longer period of observation were scheduled.

Experienced problem getting data off DAT tape from Penticton. Needed to dd the data from tape to disk for each file separately and strip ASCI junk from before FITS header. No VPLOT done. Scan breaks for INDXR not used.

CALIB was not run after final fringe-fit, so preliminary fringe-fit plots represent the final delay and rate solutions that were applied to the data.
