Write a brief summary of the data reduction and its outcomes} : No space fringes. Very complicated source has to be fitted, although the model for VS04U1 (and RRF) is much simpler. This may mean the data is corrupted, but this seems unlikely (the ripples are uv based (see projplot.ps) rather than antenna based. 29 free parameters were used in the fit, whilst there are only ~ 16 uv space bins. It is difficult to know what to do about this. The models for RRF (@8GHz) and VS04U1 are much simpler. The latter (which is really a failed experiment) can fit the VS04U model. EBF and ZP: 10-OCT-2005 Used data for 1999 in VS04U_1999_AIPS.UVF Date in 2003, VS04U_2003_AIPS.UVF, is much noisier Fit data with two major components: a core with size 0.75 mas +/- 0.20 and an elongated component about 28 mas to the east. There is some sign of faint emission to the west. #--------------------------------------------------------------------------- # Section 2 : Pre-AIPS Checklist #--------------------------------------------------------------------------- {PI letter retrieved (yes/no)} : n {Data quality reports and plots retrieved? Include the global amplitude offsets that were applied if gscal was used} : Very very complicated structure fitted. Can find no reason to fault it. Two clusters of emission 20 mas apart. RRF 8GHz has two (point?) sources but much closer together (2002 data cf 1999). EBF and ZP: 10-OCT-2005 Fit data with two major components: a core with size 0.75 mas +/- 0.20 and an elongated component about 28 mas to the east. There is some sign of faint emission to the west. Faint point source in RRF 8 GHz to south west of core is faint and might not be detected by VSOP. Lack of space fringes may be consistent with structure? # If GSCAL was used, report amplitude correction factors here. If GSCAL # was used more than once, report the CUMULATIVE factor here (e.g if gscal # reported a gain factor of 1.11 for HALCA the first time and 0.95 the # second time, the overall gain correction is 1.11 * 0.95 = 1.05. # Separate antenna names and correction factors by commas or spaces. # e.g # # {Antenna name list} : HALCA, HO, HH, MP, KA # {Amplitude correction factors} : 1.0, 1.6, 1.3, 1.0, 1.0 # {Antenna name list} : {Amplitude correction factors} : #--------------------------------------------------------------------------- # Do not delete or alter anything past this line {VSOP Survey Checklist and Worksheet version} : 0.4 #---------------------------------------------------------------------------
