Abstract
No fringes were detected to Halca during both UZ and TZ passes. The reason for UZ pass probably was related to the resolution effect. But for TZ pass which had shorter ground-space baselines than ground-ground, the reason was not clear. As a result, there was only one baseline (GBank-Hart) of 10,000km, on which fringes were good for both survey source (J1540+14) and calibrator (1741-038). The correlated flux densities were about 0.15Jy and 1.0Jy for J1540+14 and 1741-038, respectively. This is much lower than PLS result of 1.0Jy at about 8,000Km for J1540+14. (The PLS result for 1741-038 was 2.0Jy at 8,000km). So, the lower flux density for J1540+14 cannot be fully explained by the antenna gain loss. Also, UMRAO database shows little variation for J1540+14 during the observations. This is cited from the note to the observations: ``Replaced vs09a. ... HALCA observed vs09a?'' Maybe there were pointing errors? A re-scheduling is recommended. |
