The science data obtained by 1-μm Camera (IR1)
onboard the AKATSUKI (also known as Venus Climate Orbiter and PLANET-C) spacecraft
are provided on this page.
Instrument Overview
IR1 measures the thermal radiaion mostly from the surface and a little from the atmosphere
using four filters, 0.90 μm (dayside), 0.90 μm (nightside), 0.97 μm, and 1.01 μm.
calibrated data (physical value in FITS format) without estimation of amount of smear at missing pixel
Level 2c (l2c)
calibrated data (physical value in FITS format) with estimation of amount of smear at missing pixel
geometry (geo)
geometry information (latitude, longitude, local time, phase angle, incidence angle, emission angle, azimuthal angle) at the center of each pixel.
Level 3 (l3b, l3bx, l3c, l3cx)
calibrated, physical values at equally spaced longitude-latitude grid in NetCDF format, derived from l2b and l2c data (l3b and l3c), and pointing corrected geometry information at the center of each pixel (l3bx and l3cx).
Cloud Motion Vector (CMV)
CMVs at equally spaced longitude-latitude grid in NetCDF format obtained by using l3b or l3c data.
File Naming Convention

TIME
time in UTC when image taken at in "hhmmss" format, where hh is two-digit hour (00 -- 23), mm is two-digit minutes (00 -- 59), and ss is two-digit seconds (00 -- 60): e.g., 045200 for 04:52:00.
KIND
kind of filter or image type: 09d for 0.90 μm dayside filter, 09n for 0.90 μm nightside filter, 097 for 0.97 μm filter, 101 for 1.01 μm filter, dif for diffuser, and drk for dark image.
LEVEL
level of product: l1b, l2b, l2c, l3b, l3bx, l3c, l3cx, and geo.
VER
version string: v10 for "version 1.0".
EXT
extension that represents file type: fit for FITS file, jpg for JPEG file, png for PNG file, lbl for PDS3 label file, and nc for NetCDF file.
