2 dimensional image data of 256 gray scale levels (1 byte) that exhibit reflected echo strength of a sounder observation along a satellite orbit. The horizontal axis represents satellite flight direction, while the vertical axis is the distance from the satellite, namely the depth in the lunar interior below the lunar surface. Large echo intensities indicate the lunar surface and discontinuities below the lunar surface. This data product corresponds to B-scan image, which can be produced by arranging A-scope images along a satellite orbit. An A-scope image can be generated by FFT processing of a received raw signal of Sounder operation. The spatial resolution along a satellite orbit is 750m (SDR_W and SDR_S modes) or 600m (SDR_A mode). In cases of SDR_W and SDR_S modes, 10 pulses are averaged to reduce the spatial resolution in the along-track direction. The spatial resolution in the range direction (depth direction) is originl 75m. One file is for a region of about 1000km (10 minutes observation) along a satellite orbit.
