High-resolution spectroscopy of its Fe K band with Resolve would unambiguously identify and parameterize the narrow and broad absorption and emission components. This will transform our knowledge of the highly-ionized outflows and obscuring winds in NGC 5548. By combining the XRISM results with those from an already-approved XMM+NuSTAR+HST program in Cycle 1, a comprehensive understanding of the entire AGN outflow in NGC 5548 is achieved.
