Gamma and X-ray observatories discovered spectacular structures in the emission of the tenuous gas surrounding the Milky Way: the so-called Fermi and eROSITA bubbles. Galaxy formation simulations suggest that MW-like bubbles could be ubiquitous, but so far no instrument offered the combination of a large field of view, low background, and high sensitivity required for their detection in other galaxies. We propose to search for MW-like bubbles in two nearby, edge-on, disk galaxies, analogs of the Milky Way and Andromeda. Exploiting XRISM Xtend capabilities, we will explore the presence of MW-like bubbles by characterizing the spatial and spectral properties of the large-scale CGM emission.
