The energy input is substantial, but must be distributed and dissipated on large scales to suppress gas cooling and slow massive galaxy growth. We propose a 100ks Resolve observation of the Ophiuchus cluster to measure turbulence and bulk motion in the wake of the largest radio bubble on the sky. The bubble's wake reveals no unrelated structure and is well-matched to Resolve's field of view. By measuring the induced gas motions, we will determine the fraction of the bubble's enthalpy that is transferred to the intracluster medium (ICM), whether turbulence or bulk motion dominates and if bubbles can lift gas flows in their wakes to sustain feedback. | GROUPS AND CLUSTERS OF GALAXIES | 2 | A | HELEN RUSSELL | EUR | 1 | NOR | GAS MOTIONS IN THE WAKE OF THE LARGEST RADIO BUBBLE IN A CLUSTER CORE | processed | https://data.darts.isas.jaxa.jp/pub/xrism/data/obs/rev3/2/201117010/ | WINDOW1 | 4 | Observation Log: No remarks ; Pre-pipeline Log: No remarks |
