We propose a 200 ks XRISM observation of IC 443. The Resolve pointing will focus on a region characterized by bright gamma-ray emission, where the shock impacts on a dense molecular clump. Such pointing will allow us to study the physical origin of the plasma overionization and its association with thermal conduction with the cold clump. Extend will provide a map of the hard X-ray emission of IC 443, allowing us to study both the ejecta emission and the Fe K neutral line associated with cosmic rays diffusing in the nearby clouds.
