Previous Chandra/HETG and XMM-Newton/RGS observations revealed hints of blue-shifted spectral lines at <2 keV energies that could indicate the presence of an outflowing wind. Since the commonly inferred thermal wind-launch mechanism cannot operate in such a very compact binary, the putative wind may be launched by magnetic processes. XRISM can reveal if a wind is indeed present by now allowing to search for narrow lines from a wind in the 6-7 keV Fe-K band. If confirmed, it would be the first undisputed detection of a magnetic wind in an X-ray binary and would have broad astrophysical implications. | BH AND NS BINARIES | 2 | C | NATHALIE DEGENAAR | EUR | 1 | NOR | A MAGNETICALLY-DRIVEN WIND FROM AN ACCRETING MILLISECOND PULSAR? | processed | https://data.darts.isas.jaxa.jp/pub/xrism/data/obs/rev3/2/201121010/ | WINDOW2 | WINDOW1 | 1 | Observation Log: No remarks ; Pre-pipeline Log: No remarks |
