The primary goal is to confirm the modulation tentatively detected with Chandra, which was limited by signal-to-noise. This confirmation is crucial: it will establish the source's orbit, resolve the long-standing question of the nature of the compact object in IGR J16318-4848, and precisely localize the line-emitting region. The Fe Kbeta modulation is expected to vary with orbital phase similarly, something that could not be assessed with Chandra. As secondary science, we will construct a deep spectrum of the source providing unprecedented insight into the system's structure and composition.
