The Galactic remnant G292.0+1.8 is an evolved remnant rich in emission from shocked ejecta and circumstellar material. It is also bright in [OIII] emission from shocked, fast moving ejecta which have velocities in excess of 2500 km/s. Here we propose for two 100ks observations of G292 in order to investigate the properties of the explosion and nucleosynthesis. Our proposed program will be complemented by a ground based spectroscopic survey to map the 3D structure of the ejecta in order to further understand the properties of the explosion.
