Vanadium is a short-lived intermediate product of the spallation of iron by cosmic rays. Its presence in the narrow line region suggests ongoing strong cosmic ray feedback, and the likelihood that the energy range between 4.5 keV and iron K-alpha is likely to be dominated by more stable He-like and H-like products of spallation (such as titanium, chromium and manganese). Only XRISM has the sensitivity and resolution to measure these lines. This would have deep and consequential implications for the "hard continuum" between 2-6 keV. We will also model extended hot feedback in conjunction with archival Chandra data.
