Mrk509 is an ideal target because i) it is very bright in X-rays (<F(2-10)> ~4x10^-11 cgs), providing high enough S/N in the FeK band; ii) it shows a persistent wealth of FeK features, including iii) a strong and multi-component FeK emission line, with a narrow constant component plus a broader one possibly reverberated from a reflector at a few 100s Rg, and iv) two variable narrow absorption lines at ~5.4 keV and ~8.2 keV which could be direct probes of free-falling material. The proposed XRISM high-res observation will allow with a single observation to probe the accretion and ejection processes at once, giving a direct view on the central engine and its energetics.
