XIS config parameters (submode IDs)

Suzaku XIS cleaned event files are named like "ae100006010xi0_0_3x3[nb]MMMZ_cl.evt", where n and b identify the normal window mode and the burst mode, respectively. MMM and Z are the microcode (0-255) and config parameters (a,b,c...y; z), respectively. The full list of the config parameter is tabulated in the xisconfByMET.list file, which has been created in the process of concatenating the cleaned event files having the same configurations. You can search for files having particular config parameters from the DARTS/Astro Search.

Meanings of the config parameters (also called "submode IDs") are explained below. Please note that the config parameters are not unique throughout the life-time of Suzaku, since the number of alphabets is not sufficient to describe all the possible submodes. From time to time, we change the meanings of some config parameters, according to the needs.
