Suzaku HXD Background data

Overview

Description

In the energy band of HXD, the contribution of the background in the observed signal cannot be ignored in many cases. HXD does not employ the method of making an ON/OFF observation for each observation and subtracting the OFF observation as background. Instead, HXD models and discloses the detector-derived background, or non-X-ray background (NXB), that accounts for the majority of the background, for each observation.
