Hinode SOT Level 0 data

Overview

Description

This is the Hinode Solar Optical Telescope (SOT) Level-0 data.
The SOT includes the Filtergraph (FG) and Spectro-polarimeter (SP), along with the Correlation Tracker (CT) for image stabilization.
This dataset contains observation data by Filtergraph (FG) and Spectro-polarimeter (SP).

SOT-FG Level-0 data

This is the uncalibrated intensity and polarization data taken by the filtergraph, after having been reformatted from the raw bitstream. The unit of the file is one image with two- or three-dimension.

These data are stored in each observation date directory, like yyyy/mo/dd/<DataCode>/Hhh00/<FilePrefix>yyyymodd_hhmmss.s.fits.

  • yyyy : Year, mo : Month, dd : Day, hh : Hour, mm : Minutes, ss.s : Seconds
  • H is character “H”, and 00 is charactor “00”
  • <DataCode> and <FilePrefix> are strings that identifies the mode of observation, listed on this page.

SOT-SP Level-0 data

This is the reformatted “raw” 4D data (spectral x spatial x 2 CCDSIDES x 4 Stokes parameters). The unit of the file is one slit position, not one raster.
These data are stored in each observation date directory, like yyyy/mo/dd/<DataCode>/Hhh00/<DataCode>yyyymodd_hhmmss.s.fits.

  • yyyy : Year, mo : Month, dd : Day, hh : Hour, mm : Minutes, ss.s : Seconds
  • H is character “H”, and 00 is charactor “00”
  • <DataCode> is SP4D
