Natural Radio Waves (NPW)

As of 2017 April. data of NPW are archived at DARTS.

Data directory

NPW (Natural Plasma Wave) has several sub-systems. The following data are open to the public for scientific use. All the files from 1978 to 1981 are available.

The MF-band electric field intensity spectrum data

The electric field intensity spectrum data of 2 seconds (analog) or 4 seconds (PCM) time resolution observed by NPW-A sub-system. Each data point consists of 200 (analog) or 48 (PCM) electric field intensity in a frequency range from 180 kHz to 3 MHz. The data files are provided in the CDF format.

The LF-band electric field intensity spectrum data

The electric field intensity spectrum data of 2 seconds (analog) or 4 seconds (PCM) time resolution observed by NPW-A sub-system. Each data point consists of 200 (analog) or 48 (PCM) electric field intensity in a frequency range from 10 kHz to 200 kHz. The data files are provided in the CDF format.

For effective utilization of NPW data and responsible publication, the user is requested to refer to Oya and Morioka [1981] for further detail specification and descriptions on NPW experiments.
