They belong to a class of O stars which show significantly weaker mass loss than predicted by the theory of radiation-driven winds. In this respect they resemble the first generation of stars in the early universe, which presumably had only weak winds due to their low metallicity. As explanation for the weak-wind phenomenon it has been suggested that X-rays affect the ionization balance and thus lead to a reduction of the wind-driving force. To check this hypothesis the proposed Suzaku observations are needed. The new data will allow us to discriminate between possible mechanisms for the generation of X-rays, such as magnetic wind confinement or dynamical friction, and serve as input parameters in numerical models.
